For more than 30 years, I have worked where leadership decisions carry real consequences. I led departments and budgets in higher education at Medaille University. At the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, I worked alongside employers, educators and community groups on workforce challenges and barriers to economic mobility. I also served with the City of Buffalo’s Office of Strategic Planning and M&T Bank’s Buffalo Promise Neighborhood initiative. In every one of those roles, the hardest work came after the plan was written. A strong vision had to become decisions, systems and daily practices that people could carry out.
Hobbs Strategic Partners exists to help leaders do that work. We serve nonprofit, business, education and public-sector organizations that want to strengthen how they operate and turn plans into measurable progress. That can mean building a strategic plan, preparing for a leadership transition, developing new supervisors, facilitating a board retreat or strengthening the partnerships a community initiative depends on.
We believe meaningful change begins with asking the right questions. We partner with leaders to identify challenges, uncover opportunities and build the capacity to act on their priorities.
Our approach is simple. We sit down with your leadership team and talk through where you are, where you want to go and how we can help you get there. Together, we put the outcomes in writing before the work begins. The people who will carry out the plan help shape it, so ownership lasts after we step away. Throughout the engagement, you get honest communication and regular progress updates.
This blog is where I will share what I see in the field. Expect practical notes on leadership, strategy, succession planning, workforce partnerships and workplace culture. I write for executives, board members and managers in Western New York and beyond who are doing the daily work of moving their organizations forward.
If your organization is facing an important decision or a period of change, I would welcome a conversation. You can reach me at kenya@hobbsstrategicpartners.com.
