The Hobbs Strategic Partners commitment

About the Founder

Kenya K. Hobbs

Founder & Principal · Hobbs Strategic Partners

For more than 30 years, Kenya K. Hobbs has worked where leadership decisions carry real consequences: running organizations, developing people, and strengthening communities. His career spans higher education, government, workforce development, and community engagement.

At Medaille University, he served as vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion and later as interim vice president for student development. In that role he led eight departments, a staff of 30, and a $4 million budget. He also taught in the university's graduate organizational leadership program.

As director of community engagement and equity initiatives at the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, Western New York's largest chamber of commerce, he worked with employers, educators, and community groups on workforce challenges and barriers to economic mobility. He secured $150,000 in state funding for that work.

Earlier, he held leadership roles with M&T Bank's Buffalo Promise Neighborhood initiative and the City of Buffalo's Office of Strategic Planning.

He holds a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Medaille University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University at Buffalo. His certifications include conflict resolution, trauma-informed care, facilitation, and diversity leadership. He is a National Economic Mobility Fellow of the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives and received the 2026 DEIA Legacy Award from the Buffalo Niagara Human Resource Association.
